Fighters Megamix is a quirky crossover fighting game featuring the full cast of Virtua Fighter 2 and Fighting Vipers. It also includes guest appearances from games such as Virtua Cop, Sonic the Fighters, Rent A Hero, and... Daytona USA...?

Ohshima Stage

Hmmm...
To do:
Add new screenshot

While a hidden stage was included in the game, the means of accessing it was not made publicly known - as it turns out, due to the game's incredibly rushed development and test cycle, it has a crash bug that wasn't detected until discs were out on shelves. As such, Sega decided to just kind of pretend it didn't exist so nobody would get effected by the bug. The stage's existence was revealed by the designer responsible, Yutaka Ito, to mark the 30th birthday of the Sega Saturn.

To access it, start a Team Battle fight against the CPU. On the character select, there is an undocumented feature to grey out a character and render them unselectable by the CPU by pressing X on their name with Controller 2. Use this trick to grey out everyone except Deku, then select Deku for your entire roster.

This will add the hidden stage to the random stage select playlist! The stage is identical to Kids Sarah's stage, but the neon signage on the walls is changed from "MEGAMIX" to "Ohshima" in Japanese characters. Be warned: As previously mentioned, the game will crash if the walls are broken!

Regional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Tile matching minigame found only in Japanese version?
  • The Japanese version uses a vocal version of the Rent A Hero theme on his stage. The Western versions use the same song but with the lyrics removed.
  • Some of the ending portraits were replaced in the North American version.
