This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.

The Japanese and US versions were released on 32 megabit cartridges and feature all the 15 playable characters plus Ryo Sakazaki from the Art of Fighting series, who is playable via a cheat code. The European version, however, was released on a 24 megabit cartridge; as a result, Big Bear, Cheng Sinzan, Axel Hawk, and Laurence Blood had to be removed along with their respective stages, with Ryo being playable from the start in exchange.
