So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
Stuff shared with other Asobo Studio games.

Based on the film of the same name, Garfield 2 is a fairly standard 3D collectathon platformer with fairly sub-standard dancing minigames and an unsuspectingly exceptional soundtrack.

Parameters Excel Spreadsheet

Download.png Download Parameters XLS File
File: Garfield2_PC_Parameters.xls (info)

The Windows versions of the game include the file Parameters.xls, which was used to build the file pp001.tsc, and it appears to annotate various PutParameter values in said file. Sheets 2 and 3 of the XLS file appear to be left over from Asobo Studio's previous game, Special Forces: Nemesis Strike.

Unused Text

Backup TrText

The "trtext" directory, which has pretty much all text in the game, contains an unused subdirectory called "backup". Comparing the used tt01.pc (English text file) with the "backup" one, a lot of alterations in the final version (sometimes for the worse) can be observed. Of particular note is that the "backup" version of the file has the line TT 15500 "ZOMBI" - the part in the quotes was intended for the window header of the Setup.exe launcher, but the final version instead embeds the title in Setup.exe itself. "ZOMBI" is also mentioned a few times in the game executable, but the significance of this title remains unknown (Asobo Studio has never been said to have been worked on any games called "Zombi").

Name and Layout Files

In the Windows versions, every Bigfile (.DPC file on Windows) has a corresponding name file (.NPC file) and a layout file (.DPC.LAYOUT file). Only the Bigfiles are required for the game to function, the other two types are text files that were used for development.

Leftover Scripts

Various .TSC scripts appear to be left over from Special Forces: Nemesis Strike, such as Weapons.tsc and TESTPROG.tsc.

Unused Video

The game plays two videos at startup, which are LogoTGF.avi and Asobo.avi. An unused video is also present in the VIDEOS folder called Rating.avi, which displays the ESRB's "Rating Pending" rating.
