Proto:Batman: Arkham Origins
This page details one or more prototype versions of Batman: Arkham Origins.
This page sucks. If you could make it suck less, that would be awesome. Specifically: Discuss the builds individually, and not grouped together like this. Also better compare to final. |
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article? Notes: About every single image here needs to get renamed and/or replaced. |
Pre-alpha builds for the Xbox 360 version were recovered from a WB developer's hard drive. Some builds are drastically different from the retail release, featuring story elements and character designs that aren't present in the final game.
Sub-Pages
December 6th, 2012 Build A very early build of the game dated 9 months before the final build date and nearly 11 months before the final release date. |
Characters
At some point, the default Batsuit had a different neck armor design. By the February 1, 2013 Build, it only appeared on WIP cutscenes such as Batman defeating Deathstroke. Deathstroke also had a slightly different appearance in pre-alpha builds: the suit had less orange highlights and more shotgun shells on his left shoulder.
UI Changes
The main menu has been changed several times during development.
Gadgets
The explosive gel gadget was originally much bulkier. Likely a continuity fix, making the explosive gel seem inferior to Asylum's.
Shock gloves were a selectable gadget, which functioned similarly to Nightwing's electrical blast in Arkham City.
Story
Bane's final boss fight was originally planned to include a predator section. This involved powering generators and luring Bane near them for a takedown.
Crimes in Progress notifications originally had street names.
Originally you’d have to counter three thugs in the intro sequence. This was replaced by countering one thug attacking the Warden.
Many pieces of dialogue and camera angles/cutscenes were changed before the game was released, including the famous line "I'm Batman" being said.
Skins
The Worst Nightmare Batman was planned to be a selectable skin, but couldn't be implemented in the final game due to a save file corruption bug.
