Hmmm...
To do:
Cover:
  • Unused Kumoke model.
  • early/placeholder graphics in earlier versions.
  • The demo version contains some early stuff.

Yo-kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Gakuen Y - Waiwai Gakuen Seikatsu spins off the spiritual action into a humanized high school one-shot franchise, this time with more simplified top-down gameplay and a bigger focus on levelling up armor and dungeon crawling.

Also notable for being the first Level-5 game to be released incomplete on purpose, so updates can be released to "progress" with the anime's run for the sake of avoiding spoilers. This approach may or may not have went down well.

Aside from that, after years of being stuck to the anime adaptation and its spinoffs, this marked the first Yo-kai Watch game to officially hit Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Unused Music

Test Song?

This song, stored within the files for battle music (bgm_btl) appears to be a sort of generic test theme, separated into three audio files (bg10040, bg10070 and bg10010) like with other used music, complete with audience cheering to the beat.

The two audio files below are examples of how they'd sound together.

bg10040 and bg10070 bg10030, bg10040 and bg10070

bgm_btl.awb.00026

A 1-minute version of the poop-dodging minigame music in the Hanako-san mission. Though, it is used in the anime.

bgm_btl.awb.00027

Same as above except shortened to 20 seconds.

Unused Data

Unused Music Data

In this game, music files for some songs (like the song played on the overworld map) stored separately into different "instrument channels" to play at certain parts, like in different areas in the overworld map for example. The same applies to audience cheering provided by power-ups from joining specific School Clubs. "Disco" versions of the battle tracks are separate from the main themes.

vs Akai Bakeneko is strangely separated into audio files containing percussion and backing rather than audience cheering to the beat. It's possible that the song was supposed to change in certain phases of the boss fight.
