So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
  • Unused kill icons and pickup icons.
  • Bugs should be documented on the Bugs page, not here.
  • Document more differences and changes that aren't bugs.
  • Release dates for the Mac and Linux versions.
  • Revisional differences.

Half-Life Deathmatch: Source is, you guessed it: Half-Life's multiplayer mode ported to Source, in a similar way to Half-Life: Source. Just like Half-Life Source, it utilizes the Source Engine's new features, such as 3D skyboxes and fancier lighting. And just like Half-Life Source before it (or, rather, at the same time as it), got broken by engine updates.

Half-Life: Source leftovers

As this game was built on top of HL:S, it's no surprise that there's leftovers from Half-Life: Source. You can even copy maps from HL:S and play them here, but they are certainly a bit more broken than before.

Changes and Differences from the Original's deathmatch

Missing Content from Half-Life Deathmatch

For some reason, the Recon playermodel and Gasworks map are not present here.

Missing HD Pack support

Unlike the original and Half-Life: Source, Half-Life Deathmatch: Source lacks the HD Pack.

Map Differences

  • For some reason, the hidden 'blue room' in Crossfire that was inaccessible in the original game, is now accessible by just walking up to the door with the blue lighting missing.
