So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
  • Unused kill icons and pickup icons.
  • Bugs should be documented on the Bugs page, not here.
  • Document more differences and changes that aren't bugs.
  • Release dates for the Mac and Linux versions.
  • Revisional differences.

Half-Life Deathmatch: Source is, you guessed it: Half-Life's multiplayer mode ported to Source, in a similar way to Half-Life: Source. Just like Half-Life Source, it utilises the Source Engine's new features, such as 3D skyboxes and fancier lighting. And just like Half-Life Source before it (or, rather, at the same time as it), got broken by engine updates.

Half-Life: Source leftovers

As this game was built on top of HL:S, it's no surprise that there's leftovers from Half-Life: Source.

Changes and Differences from the Original's deathmatch

Missing Content from Half-Life Deathmatch

For some reason, the Recon playermodel and Gasworks map are not present here.

Missing HD Pack support

Unlike the original and Half-Life: Source, Half-Life Deathmatch: Source lacks the HD Pack.

Weapons

  • The .357 Magnum's viewmodel has no laser sight attached to it, despite the zoom function being active.
  • The Shotgun uses the single-shot sound for the double-shot alternate fire and its pump sound is out of sync.
