Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix+ is a PC port of a Switch port of a PS4 port of an Arcade remaster of the previous Arcade title, running the same engine based off Virtua Fighter 5. Containing (nearly) every song in the series, it's the most complete release of DIVA yet. It contains both graphical styles of Mega Mix and Future Tone, allowing for anyone to choose the style they like. Many things seen in this page may appear in earlier ports, but are listed here due to Mega Mix+ being significantly easier to mod.

Unused Graphics

In the game's main CPK file, almost the entirety of the original Arcade Future Tone, Future Tone DX, and Mega Mix is included, although the majority of AFT and a lot of FTDX files go unused. Mega Mix's unused leftovers are mostly related to Mix Mode and Switch specific graphics.

In Sekiranun Graffiti there's an unused texture left over from the original Project DIVA Arcade release of the PV, showing the logo of Arcade on the stage.

Gyroscope

Italian/Spanish

The same unused Gyroscope setting from the Switch version was still translated for all the new languages here. French's is the same as English, so that one wasn't included.

Unused Survival Course Data

within rom_ps4, you can find the txt file listing the survival courses and their songs, while survival_course.txt (Courses used in FTDX's JP release) and survival_course_en.txt (Courses used in Future Tone's western release) are used if the PS4 menus are re-enabled, a third listing named survival_course_event.txt is never used. It's mostly identical to the Japanese courses, but includes an extra 3 song Survival Course named SPECIAL COURSE, which includes Denparadigm, Negaposi*Continues, and The Intense Voice of Hatsune Miku. The graphic for the SPECIAL COURSE header is only contained in the Japanese menu graphics, and not in the English graphics. survival_course_event.txt was also present unused in FTDX, along with the unused SPECIAL COURSE.

modified game to show the ps4 menus.

Unused Code

Arguments

Hmmm...
To do:
The addresses to these bytes should be noted alongside the version number of the game where they were found.

In the original Mega Mix, adding a args.txt to the root folder would load the PS4 UI and Trial version. While the code to read the file no longer exists in the PC port, you can still enable the arguments through hex editing a byte.

Survival Course

If the PS4 UI is re-enabled, either through args or external mods, Survival Course can be fully re-accessed, with the same song lists as Future Tone DX.

Unused Rom Folder Names

The rom folders store all the files in the game, but it's mostly sorted by when each file was last edited from their previous game (i.e. pv_031_extreme_1.dsc is in rom_ps4_dlc, since it was last edited for Future Tone's DLC), sorted by when each file was added such as the game's regular DLC using rom_steam_dlc, and some files sorted by region which uses, for example, rom_steam_region. However, there's also some other rom folders coded in that never got used. Mostly language specific region ones.

  • rom_ps4_fix - FT leftover. The game uses rom_ps4 instead.
  • rom_steam_region_cn - Chinese (Simplified) regional folder
  • rom_steam_region_en - English regional folder
  • rom_steam_region_fr - French regional folder
  • rom_steam_region_ge - German regional folder
  • rom_steam_region_it - Italian regional folder
  • rom_steam_region_kr - Korean regional folder. This one was possibly meant to be used for Senbonzakura -F edition-'s files, but they're in rom_steam_region instead.
  • rom_steam_region_sp - Spanish regional folder
  • rom_steam_region_tw - Chinese (Traditional) regional folder
  • rom_steam_region_dlc_kr - DLC version of the Korean regional folder. This one was probably meant for Senbonzakura's files, but they're in rom_steam_region_dlc instead.

Most of the regional folders are unknown, besides the Korean one. It's possible at some point, regional files were meant to be in language specific ones, but ended up being in one regional folder instead (two counting the DLC version). The other language ones are unknown still, since those languages don't have any songs or modules disabled.

Unseen Animations

Ghost Rule

During the intro to Ghost Role the camera goes through a hallway, as such a few seconds of animation are never seen. It's similar to what's used in Ghost Rule's Magical Mirai 2016 appearance, but it isn't identical.

Revisional Differences

Version 1.01

Released June 15th, 2022, it contained the following changes:

  • Fixed a sound syncing issue that occurred in certain environments.
  • Adjusted the visual presentation for some of the music videos.
  • The game will no longer pause if the application window becomes inactive during Video Viewer or when playing back a custom playlist.
  • Adjusted the UI elements in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
  • Other system stability improvements.

Another change, completely swept under the rug by SEGA, is that the game no longer will load files from any folder named "rom", which was a feature used to mod the game up to that point.

Version 1.02

Released July 15th, 2022, it contained the following changes:

  • Resolved missing audio issues that occur under specific situations
  • Adjusted the visual presentation for some of the music videos
  • Adjusted the UI for English/French/Italian/German/Spanish versions
  • Other system stability improvements

The adjusted UI changed the fonts throughout all the menus to Rodin. This is paired alongside making song titles no longer squish, instead just scrolling if the name is too long. This update also added in NekoMimi Archive, which was only mentioned in a tweet for an update for Mega Mix on Switch, presumably due to the song not being present in the Korean version of the game.

Version 1.03

Released January 30th, 2023, it contained the following changes:

  • Fixes to issues that causes the game to hang in certain situations.
  • A fix for an issue that occurred to Steam Deck players as well as resolving an issue where some buttons were incorrectly displayed.
  • A fix for an issue that caused a discrepancy in total song count of songs passed in the high score rankings.

Version 1.04

Released May 11th, 2023, it contained the following change:

  • A fix for an issue that occurred for Steam Deck players.

The fix removed the UninstallHook files, which was causing the Steam Deck to hang when trying to uninstall the game.
