Ganbare Goemon: Sarawareta Ebisumaru
|Ganbare Goemon: Sarawareta Ebisumaru/en|
This game has a hidden sound test.
In the Game Over screen, during the "Continue" prompt, enter the Konami code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A). You can then access the hidden Sound Test.
There in an disabled simple and quite unfinished Debug Menu exists in the game code. Use the Game Genie code 2FC-86F-7FE to re-enable it somehow. Note, with this code there is no proper initialization of the variables, so you need to set them manually once being in the Debug Menu. Another note, all numbers in this Debug Menu are hexadecimal, but there are no full HEX charset in the final game, so you couldn't see the proper numbers.
There are four options, three are visible and one invisible. First two options are a numbers of Stage and a Stage Location indexes respectively. Third invisible option changes the music index value, but there are no code to actually trigger it to play a sound. The fourth option is for some in-game flags and seems doesn't actually works here at all.
Change the numbers with D-Pad buttons, then press Start to start a game with selected options.
