Metroid: Samus Returns is a remake of Metroid II: Return of Samus. It's rather controversial, chiefly for the fact that Nintendo shot down the fan-made Another Metroid 2 Remake shortly before announcing this game.

There are text strings for all languages that teach the player how to perform the "secret" technique of laying a Power Bomb while attached to a wall with the Spider Ball, and then blasting through the air. Seems like it originally wasn't meant to be a secret.

GUI_STATUS_BOMB The Bomb is the limitless default weapon for the Morph Ball. Press Y while in Morph Ball form to set.
GUI_STATUS_CHARGEBEAM The Charge Beam cumulates energy into a powerful beam. It also absorbs items nearby. Hold Y to charge and release to fire.
GUI_STATUS_GRAPPLEBEAM The Grapple Beam is a ropelike beam which can hook to grapple points. Tap its icon on the Touch Screen to equip and hold Y to fire.
GUI_STATUS_GRAVITYSUIT The Gravity Suit drastically reduces damage from enemies. It also allows Samus to freely move in fluids and protects her from lava.
GUI_STATUS_HIGHJUMPBOOTS The High Jump Boots increases jump height.
GUI_STATUS_ICEBEAM The Ice Beam freezes enemies temporarily which can be used as platforms. Tap its icon on the Touch Screen to equip and press Y to fire.
GUI_STATUS_MISSILE The Missile is Samus' basic secondary weapon. Hold R and press Y to fire.

GUI_STATUS_SPACEJUMP The Space Jump allows Samus to continually jump in the air. Press B mid-somersault to jump again.
GUI_STATUS_SPAZERBEAM The Spazer Beam splits into three projectiles when shot.
GUI_STATUS_SPIDERBALL The Spider Ball allows Samus to move across the walls and ceiling while in Morph Ball form. Hold L to activate.
GUI_STATUS_SPRINGBALL The Spring Ball adds jumping capabilities while in Morph Ball form.
GUI_STATUS_SUPERMISSILE The Super Missile has increased damage and blast radius. Hold R and tap its icon on the Touch Screen to equip. Press Y to fire.
GUI_STATUS_VARIASUIT The Varia Suit reduces the amount of damage taken from enemies. It also nullifies damage from extreme heat.
GUI_STATUS_WAVEBEAM The Wave Beam is made of energy waves which can pass through solid objects.
