Doom (Sega Saturn)
Doom |
---|
Developer: Rage Software[1] This game has unused code. |
A port of the PlayStation version and featuring all of the content, but none of the colored lighting nor playable framerate.
Hidden Credits
Enter the second level of Ultimate Doom (Map 2: Plant), then go to the password screen and enter any password starting with "jb4jh" or "lyjvm" (the rest of the password can be filled with any characters). When the "INVALID PASSWORD" error pops up, press Start to bring a Special Thanks screen by the developers (each of the two passwords has a different screen).

The backdrop of the Rage Special Credits screen is Rage Software's Jim Bagley, the lead programmer on this port. The backdrop of the Sega Special Credits screen is Ed Hollingshead, a programmer at Sega of Europe.
Level Select
Pause and press Right, Left, Z, R, Z, L, Z, C. Press Left/Right to choose a level and B to warp there. Note that the secret levels cannot be accessed this way.
Unused Map Data
- All of the level data for the colored lighting and translucency used in the PlayStation version is present.
Regional Differences
- The US release lacks support for the Taisen Cable, and multiplayer as a result. Oddly, the box for the US version claims two-player linkup support, while the box for the European release claims to be single-player only.
- The Japanese version slightly reorders the music tracks on the disc to more closely match the track order of the PlayStation version.
