So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
  • Check for any test maps (which are staples of Night Dive remasters) or other unused content exclusive to the remastered edition.
  • Unused text strings found in the the 2021 remaster of Quake also exist here.
  • The Lost Levels originally started out as a WAD for Doom64 EX called "Merciless Extermination" before it was dropped and redone for the remaster. Add info about this into a prerelease page.

The 2020 Doom 64 brings the 1997 cult-classic onto modern systems with vast improvements and the new Lost Levels campaign. The game was released alongside Doom Eternal as a preorder bonus.

Because the remaster was largely based on the work of the fan-made port Doom64 EX (which worked by extracting assets from the original ROM file), much of the unused content from the original is still in here.

Doom64 EX Leftovers

Seeing that the remaster was built off top of Doom64 EX, unsurprisingly a few leftovers from it are present.

Nightmare Monsters Flag

In the PlayStation port of Doom there was a flag to change monsters to "nightmare" variants, that would have their sprites subtractively blend and double their health. The only monster that did make use of this was the Spectre. This flag was removed in Doom 64 but is restored here in the remaster due to Doom64 EX making use of this. It should be noted that the Nightmare Imp is a unique monster and not the result of a modification to regular Imps.

No levels in ether the base campaign or The Lost Levels actually make use of this feature.

Jumping

Hmmm...
To do:
Which keys precisely? and a screenshot showing this message in the console would be nice too.

Doom64 EX included various features like free look and jumping. These features were removed in the remaster to offer a more authentic experience to the vanilla game. Several keys bound to jump will cause an "Unknown command: jump" message to appear in the console.

Like the rest of the classic Doom games that got rereleased on consoles (excluding the original Xbox port, where the Medikit, Stimpack, and Berserk powerup graphics were untouched) and console storefronts, in the 2020 port, the red crosses on the Medikit, Stimpack, and Berserk power-up graphics were replaced with blue crosses outlined with a lighter color with a small dot in the middle.
