Debugging

The ROMs main event call table is located starting at 8000:0670 (0x670) and called upon at 8000:0725.

To access Test Mode, inject it's routine 8000:70BE offset (0x70BE) into the call table and set a breakpoint at 8000:0725, modify the DI register to the table offset, and continue execution.
