Regional Differences

Some lines were changed between the US and European releases, mostly typos.

First, this typo.

US EU
Without firefly magic, we are unable to breath magic. Without firefly magic, we are unable to breathe magic.

Same typo appears here.

US EU
Hey! Spyro can still breath fire! Hey! Spyro can still breathe fire!

Spyro is more on the ball about exactly what's going on.

US EU
No way! We've got to figure out what's gone wrong! No way! I've got to find whoever's responsible for this and bring all the fireflies back!

Small typo.

US EU
These evil aliens keep attacking the ship before we can get eveything loaded. These evil aliens keep attacking the ship before we can get everything loaded.

A line was removed.

US EU
Thank you for rescuing my sister, Spyro! But we'll never be safe until all the Rhynocs are gone. Please help us! Thank you for rescuing my sister, Spyro!

Changed a word.

US EU
Try burning or freezing different objects in the world to see what happens. Try flaming or freezing different objects in the world to see what happens.

Change of catchphrase.

US EU
...Blimey! ...Crikey!

Same as above.

US EU
Blimey! Those stirrers have covered the landing pads with rocks! Crikey! Those stirrers have covered the landing pads with rocks!

Another typo corrected.

US EU
You can also reach things with super flame breath that you can't reach with your normal brath. You can also reach things with super flame breath that you can't reach with your normal breath.

Time was changed.

US EU
Just score 5 goals on him in 30 seconds! Just score 5 goals on him in 60 seconds!

Also, 'A' is used as a placeholder for the language selection in the US version.

Unused Text

Present only in the US game are the names of all the fireflies. This is different from the 'rescued' tags.

Unused Music

There's one unused music track:

The composer of the game, Robert Baffy, told why it was unused and what name this track originally had. Here's the direct quote: "I didn't remember, but I just went through my email archive for the project and it was for "upbeat boss music" -- not attached to any particular level or boss in-game, but something I thought could be used for a more fun and frantic part of the game. We never found a spot for it unfortunately, it was one of my favorites. It was called SNG_SLAPHAPPY, which I now recall naming it that because I was pulling multiple late nights on various projects."

You can see this quote in the comments section here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a4FQiasXvA

There are also 3 different unused jingles (most likely for the hockey mini-game):
