Donkey Kong Barrel Blast is a racing game that was planned to be released on the GameCube for use with the DK Bongo Controller, until Nintendo realized that the GameCube was becoming obsolete and decided that it would be better for the game to be released on the Wii.

  • The Japanese version has a different title design and PAON's last three letters are in lowercase instead of uppercase.
  • In the European version, the game is known as Donkey Kong Jet Race, the copyright was updated and its outline is thicker.

  • The difficulty mode "Rookie" was renamed to "Beginner" in the European version.
  • "Mt." was changed to the British spelling "Mt" in the European version.

Internal project name

Many internal code for the game mentions KNN and Kanon, the sound files also have a header of KNON. Most likely Kanon is the internal name and no this is not a Kremling pun.
