...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

The Xbox One is Microsoft's third console, and the successor to the Xbox 360.

1, 360...One? Whatever, it's not like Microsoft could count Windows versions either. This led to many people calling the Xbox "Original Xbox", or "Xbox Classic" to avoid confusion with the Xbox One.

The Xbox One's Dashboard is also used by the Xbox Series X/S, but with a dynamic theme feature.

Dashboard Revisions

The dashboard for the console received various dramatic changes during its life span, even more than it's predecessor, the Xbox 360. The Dashboard cannot be downgraded once updated to a new version.

Original (2013-2015)

Original dashboard that launched with the console, used from November 2013 to 2015. The UI design uses the Windows 8 Metro design language. Version numbers range from 6.2.9781 to (ADD HERE).

Fluent Dashboard (2018-2020)

A redesign of the Fall Creators update to use Microsoft's then-new Fluent design language.

Redesigns

2 months before the release of the Xbox Series consoles on September 2020, the Fluent dashboard received a redesign. Several smaller changes have been added to the redesign, such as a Search button on the top right added in 2022. Additionally, the OS was updated to be based on Windows 11 in 2021.

The dashboard would receive yet another redesign in 2023, adding shortcut buttons on top, making the game list smaller and adding 2 more spaces for games and apps.
