Pac-Attack (pack-ə-tak) n 1. A puzzle game, based on the iconic Pac-Man series of games.

Debug Menu Text

All that remains of a debug menu starts at 0x5C39 and 0x5E07 in the ROM with text strings in all versions. Note, these strings are the only ones in the whole game that uses regular ASCII encoding. The rest of the game's text strings use different encoding.

Extra Difficulty Level

A hidden difficulty level in Normal Mode can be activated by holding Right while "Hyper" is highlighted at the level select screen, then confirming the selection. The game will then begin with a starting level of 300 and a starting score of 0 points. Also, selecting "Hyper" while holding Right+Down will begin a game with a starting level of 900 and a starting score of 0 points!

In addition to the name change, the title logo is colored differently in Super Game Boy mode. The Japanese version also skips the puzzle mode tutorial message.
