Hmmm...
To do:
  • There's unused script files that shows unused dialogue from Aogami and Goko.
  • Screenshots of debug room inside the game were shown off when the game was leaked early. Check those rooms out.
  • There's various debug settings for combat, world map, and exploration. Can they still be accessed?
  • Lucifer(In his Kaneko design) and blue robot Tao have unused icons and some animations, indicating they were once playable or fightable. Can they be hacked into combat?
  • Apparently there's leftover data for demons that were meant for the base game and "DLC", like Satan, Ardha, Maitreya, and Dagda.
  • Leftover data shows there was originally a chaos megami(goddess) akin to blue robot Tao, possibly referring to a scrapped Sahori megami.
  • There's unused voice lines for Idun and several other characters.
  • The official soundtrack mentions some scrapped story elements, notably a scrapped gruesome scene featuring Tao.
  • There's unused animations of the protagonist in his normal form.
  • With Vengeance being out, try spotting the differences from both the vanilla and the enhanced version.

Shin Megami Tensei V was the long waited next mainline entry for the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, finally releasing 5 years after 2016’s Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse in 2021, with a huge amount of quality-of-life features. In this game, you play as a nameless protagonist who discovers that his hometown Tokyo is seemly fake while teaming with a mysterious robot-like mentor named Aogami, whom you fuse ala Vegito/Gogeta style into a powerful entity: Nahobino! From there, you explore a desert/ruined city full of recurring mythological demons.

An enhanced version of the game, Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance, was released on June 14, 2024 with even more of quality-of-life features such as a new story.

Revisional Differences

A 1.02 update was released in Japan on December 3rd, 2021, and December 9th for the rest of the world:

  • Field of view and brightness adjustability were added in the settings options.
  • Reduced the number of gimmicks for continuous jumps at the segment right after Demon King's Castle, 3rd Stratum Stairs due to the players' request over the frustrations over the fans.
