The latest in Square Enix's long history of rereleasing the first two games in the series, Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster is a remake/remaster of the classic Famicom game Final Fantasy II, with none of that pesky bonus content from the PS1, GBA, and PSP versions, but with a fully orchestrated soundtrack and some of the gameplay enhancements from earlier remakes (no more losing stats!).

Unused Graphics

Scott

Scott is a minor character that never joins your party, but despite this he has a full set of animations for battle, including Mini and Toad variants. He's still missing a few graphics the rest of the playable characters have, such as a portrait. This may hint at plans to have added the Soul of Rebirth from Dawn of Souls into the game, where Scott is playable.

Version Differences

Initially launching for PC and smartphones, a later release for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch added the following features:

• A "classic" pixel-style font that can be selected in addition to the thin, Arial-esque font in the previous versions.
• The ability to switch between the orchestrated soundtrack and the original soundtrack from the NES version.
• A Boost menu was added with 0x/0.5x/1x/2x/4x multipliers for gil, weapon skill level, magic skill level, and attributes, as well as an options to increase HP after a certain number of battles and to enable or disable random encounters.
