It's finally summertime, and your Sim is deposited into SimValley, a very small town full of interesting Sims. Later, your Sim is the most popular of all in SimValley, already on their way out in a rocket ship.

This game started a small series of handheld Sims spin-offs, where you get to directly control your Sim, have in-depth conversations, and complete goals. They are rather different from the original PC games, mixing in RPG elements with Sims gameplay. This game doesn't take itself too seriously, either - the dialogue is full of jokes, references to the game itself (even referencing the limited space on the cartridge!), and puns.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Some early screenshots are used in the console version.
    • One depicts an unknown minigame with what appears to be a double helix in a test tube. Is this still in the ROM?

Unused Objects

Hmmm...
To do:
Rip the thumbnails!

Unused Music

Steam Tunnels

An unfinished pattern from the Steam Tunnels theme. It is completely skipped over, as the song jumps to position 2 before it can get here. It loops twice, then goes back to the start.

To do:
More strings. 6,664 lines total.

Pop-ups

An item has been repossessed!

Based on existing pop-ups, this would most likely appear when you enter your house after failing to pay your bills. If you don't pay your bills, you are sent to jail instead.

This appears after the list of valid Create-A-Sim letters, and directly before the internal room names.

Sim Locations

Hi! I think I'll be in the barn basement @1
Hey! A little privacy! I'll be in the bathroom @1
Hey. I'll be in the cellar of the haunted house @1
You're breaking up! I'll be in the steam tunnels @1

When you call a Sim, they will respond with their current location. There are some locations that Sims will never visit, leaving these unused.

@1 can refer to the following strings:

for a little while.
for a few hours.
for quite a while.

Oddities

Shower Animations

When you send your Sim to take a shower, their entire torso gets obscured by a conveniently sized cloud of water the instant they disrobe. Underneath this, the sprites are fully rendered and pre-censored, which is impossible to see under most circumstances. The second game doesn't have black boxes edited over the shower animations, suggesting the sprites in this game were rendered and edited before they decided to use the cloud of water as a censor.
