The asterisk represents the player's name.

Whoa. Look at all the babes!

I'm so forgetful, I always ask Sparky to remember things for me
It doesn't matter how long I sunbathe, I never seem to get brown.
I'm really excited by the shuttle mission..
who knows what sort of weird people live on Mars?

These lines were used by a group of beachgoers living in Brickton.

You now won the right to challenge Ghost and Freeze.
Hello, *. I am Ghost, and this is my buddy, Freeze. You have driven well so far, but you cannot defeat us!
Nobody beats Ghost and Freeze!
*, you are truly worthy of facing Rocket Racer for the Galactic Cup. Good Luck..

In the prototype, the player can race against Ghost and Freeze (characters from the PC version) after they have completed four races in Xalax. The final game removes them, and has the player face Rocket Racer after the races.
