Original Release

Early Variants

Early graphics for several songs can be found in the game disc. These include CDs for EL RITMO TROPICAL, stomp to my beat, PUT YOUR FAITH IN ME and PARANOiA MAX ~DIRTY MIX~, and a slightly overwritten background for the then Step Battle-exclusive song Keep On Movin'. Additionally, PUT YOUR FAITH IN ME also has an unused banner.

XANAĐO

There are graphic files for the song XANADU in the game disc, but the song was not officially added to the game until Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix. However, there is no music or step data for the song. These graphics, which include a temporary banner with the song's title mispelled as "XANAĐO", are also nearly completely different from the final version's.

Interestingly, the artwork of the woman seen in the unused background was reused in the graphics of Last Thing on My Mind, a song in the European release, Dancing Stage.

Club Version

Early Variants

Curiously, DanceDanceRevolution 2ndMIX with beatmania IIDX CLUB VERSiON seems to have more leftover assets from earlier versions compared to the original release. These include an early banner for BRILLIANT 2U which credits the song to a different alias (VULGAR Inc.).

Revisional Differences

Club Version

  • A PlayStation Memory Card port was added, allowing gameplay of Edit Data created in the PlayStation releases of Dance Dance Revolution and Dance Dance Revolution 2nd Remix.
  • The All Music mode was added, where all 38 songs in the game are playable, without unlock-based restrictions. It is accessed via a code.
  • Five new songs were added in standard gameplay: EL RITMO TROPICAL, LOVE, TUBTHUMPING, MAKE A JAM! and PARANOiA KCET ~clean mix~, with the latter two being crossovers from the PlayStation release of Dance Dance Revolution.
  • Added link compatibility with beatmania IIDX. With both games active, the Club Version mode activates, in which a list of 13 songs seen in former game can be played. However, they only have charts in the Basic difficulty.

Link Version

  • Is akin to the Club Version, but without the hook-up compatibility with beatmania IIDX.
  • The typos in the graphics for the song Keep On Movin' were fixed. Prior to this release, the song's title was displayed as "Keep On Movi'n".

Club Version 2

  • The link compatibility was "upgraded" to with beatmania IIDX substream, which was released at the same time. In addition to 29 new songs from the former game's songlist, the ones present in the previous Club Version recieved Trick and Single Maniac charts.
  • A typo in the banner for the song BOOM BOOM DOLLAR was fixed. Prior to this release, the artist name was displayed as "King Kong & D.Jangle Girls". Funnily enough, another typo was introduced in the song's title: "BOON BOON DOLLAR". What is curious to notice is that the original banner displays for a split second before changing to this new variant.
